water proofing the keel

should I put a bead of marine goop along the keel before reglassing this baby? (After removal of all the old paint and junk of course)

You may get better responses if you post more detailed pictures as well as location of the picture and what exactly you want your end result to be. Do you want to water proof the keel because your boat is taking on water? Or is that a picture of the stringer?
