I have a 2001 Johnson 150 Ocean Pro that I just replaced the water pump impeller on and I have a question. The drive shaft had some grooves on it from the top of the water pump housing. They did not seem to bad. Should I be concerned about the grooves in the shaft?
I attached some other pictures of the old impeller just if anyone was interested in what it looked like. The old impeller was very hard to get off the drive shaft needed lots of persuasion... I have had the motor for 3 years and this is the first impeller job I have performed on it (I know it should be a every year maintenance item).
