Evinrude 1983 75hp 3cyl
I had a leak in the lower unit this past season. I removed the LU drained it, put ~ 10psi in it and submerged it. Air was coming out of the water pump port (only) that leads to the powerhead. So now I know where it is leaking Driveshaft seal housing either o-ring or oil retainers. The issue is that the hack that I asked to replace the water pump two years ago used some type of form a gasket and left a lock washer in there. But the real issue is gettting the impeller off. It appears to be rusted on. I have never had an impeller rust on to the driveshaft, has anyone else and what is the best way to get this off? I've got Kroil on it (liquid wrench stuff) and it is soaking now.
