water pump inlet tube 120/140 j&e

when i dropped the lower unit, the inlet tube is out of round. with out taking it out what is the best way to make it as round as possible to get a good seat in water pump? thanx

If your talking about the copper tube that goes from the pump up to the powerhead it can be straightened (pun intended) out easily. Find a tapered punch that will fit in it and tap the tube lightly. That should make her round again.<br /><br />Good luck!

thanx, its just on the 1st 1/2 inch. like they were folded in to fit in water pump.<br /><br />on another note i am getting ready to try your elbow vent above #1 cylinder to help with the air/cooling of rectifier problem. im going to do it on the trash block 1st than the current one.<br />i also updated the the covers and springs. i hope there isnt anything else i havent read in your previous posts that im missing. thanx<br />-<br />333967 cover<br />32839 gasket<br />333858 spring<br />434137 tstat<br />320880 seat<br />330273 cap<br />to be used on c-heads #333686, resurfaced 10 thousandths of an inch.<br />-<br />have 2 elbows for the air/cooling vent 1 w/ large nipple or the other w/ smaller nipple. to slow down flow abit if needed.

Sounds like youre good to go. The elbow with the smaller nipple will work fine. That should fit the hose you already have. The larger elbows were used on V6 and V8 models equipped with power steering.<br /><br />Good luck!
