water pump inst. ?

1970 MC1 the new water pump kit i got doesn't have the seal that is in the upper W.P. housing that sits under the slinger. The housing i took off does. It looks like they just made the shaft hole smaller with the plastic and did away with the seal. Do i need the old style or will this one work? thanks

i think yer gonna be ok w/o sns..... serive manual #1 don't talk about it, but 2 does. specificaly states that "late drive units do not have oil seal in water pump body." mines back together again. but i don't think i have the oil seal installed in my water pump body either......

Yeah i looked up the install on the web here, and it covered MC1 and didn't mention that seal. Also i got two small like gasket washers in the kitmaybe 1/4" or less. Dont have a clue where those go? Any thoughts? Thanks Zig.
