In going to replace the water pump on my Johnson 90. I dont know what year model it is though to order the pump. The model no is J90TLC05 and the serial is J6145363. It has a vro but I dont use it and just premix. Can anyone tell me what year model this motor is? Does it have the waterpump housing with one outlet or two and does it have the woodruff key or the plastic wedge type key? Any help would be appreciated I will order the pump from here at iboats if its reasonalby priced. :) <br />Thanks in advance

Re: Water Pump on Johnson 90hp

Thanks guys, I followed the link Bro and it looks like there is a BMS (johnie-rude brand) a DMS & Sierra brand. Johnie-rude $51.59 DMS $38.06 and Sierra $36.95. Is there any real diffrence between the three brands, I understand some people will only go with OEM But is there really any Quality diffrence to justify the approx $15 price diffrence? or is you get what you pay for??

Re: Water Pump on Johnson 90hp

I can't speak to the difference between pumps if any. My thinking is though that if I have a failure of a critical part like a water pump it isn't going to be because I tried to save $15.00.
