Water Pump troubles

Tried to pull water pump on my Mark 28 AD (1959) but it seems it's really tight maybe corrosion but it bent the ears on my tool. I made a puller as close to the part # 91-27780 pictured in the 1964 and before manual and a photo Alcan sent me. My question should this cartridge and impeller come out relatively easy or do I have other problems?

Sometimes those are just "stuck". You might have to take it FLMD to get it off.<br /><br />-W

Thanks for your advise Clams, I did take it to the boat and motor shop and he informed me he was not interested in working on such an old model and he was not going to invest in any tools for such an old motor. I will make another tool of heavier gage wire and try and heat it with my torch first, with me luck.<br />Ron
