Can anyone lead me to a web-site that will give me step-by-step instructions on how to replace the water pump on a 1996 two stroke 9.9hp Suzuki? I've got good mechanical skills but somewhat hesitant to just dive into it. I suppose I could purchase a manual but if a web-site is available, I'd just as soon save the cash. The current water pumps works ok, but it's been a couple of years since it's been changed - according the the previous owner. Any links will be welcome. Thanks in advance for the help. DuPont.

Go to the bottom of this web page and purchase a manual. Even if you find a better website than this, buy a manual anyway. Its the best marine investment you will ever make. Its only ~$30 and it will pay for itself many times over. Oh by the way, remove the bolts that hold the lower unit on, disconnect the shift rod and pull the lower unit and remove the water pump housing (the thing with the drive shaft sticking up through the middle) and replace the impeller. Web site! You don't need no other stinkin website!

jimd: Thanks for the reply. It sounds easy enough and it probably is. Even if I do screw up, I can always throw the parts in a box and take it to the Suzuki dealer and hand it all over to them and not be out anymore money that if I took the motor to them in the first place. Thanks again. DuPont
