I have a '06 Mercruiser 3.0L in a Maxum 1800 SR3 (same year), and am wondering if i do indeed have a water separator? I'm following the line from the tank and it goes to a small canister on the Starboard side of the motor, which looks like it COULD be a separator BUT, it doesn't look like a "typical" water separator. Because of it's location, i can't see it that well either. Can someone help me out? Do I, or don't I have a water separator?

The standard disposable water seperators look like oil filters. There are other ones that have water drain at the bottom, and are made of plastic.

Ayuh,.....

You Probably Don't.......

It sounds like you're seeing the little canister mounted On the fuelpump,...
Yes,... There's a Filter inside, but Not water seperating....

Adding 1 of the spin,+ toss filters is the way to Go,.....
The Hard part is usually Finding some place to mount it......

Thanks for the reply. Any particular brand that you recommend?

Ayuh,.....

Right here at iboats you can get either the aluminum housing/ bracket, or a SSteel housing/ bracket, part #s 18-7775 for aluminum, or 18-7776 for the SSteel 1.....
They both use filter # 18-7845......
