I have a mercury 80 thunderbolt and I took it out on the lake today. When I have it in the water idling, water was spitting out of the pea hole. But also, there are 2 holes at about midway up the engine. During idle, and neutral rev it was spitting water from these 2 holes.

see pictureUntitled.jpg

Is this nornal?

Those are the idle relief ports. Water and exhaust will exit those when you are idleing in neutral, or any other time the exhaust cannot easily exit the prop hub.
