water streaming from lower unit drain hole (weep hole)

All,

Just serviced my outdrive and when running on muffs, water is coming out of the weep hole (shift shaft hole), I have seen various names...my merc manual calls it a drive unit water drain hole.

Any way, I never noticed that before but I looked around a little on the forums and it seems that is normal...am I correct ?

If you are talking about the hole on the bottom toward the front of the drive then yes it is normal. That is the hole that lets water out of the drive and prevents freezing inside. Make sure it is clean when winterizing.
