My sounder has a water temp sensor that mounts on the stern. I hate drilling holes in my transom, so I'm putting the transducer in the bilge. I don't want to drill a hole in the back of the boat for the temp sonsor to to exit nor do I want to drill holes to mount it. Anyone ever drilled out the transom drain pllug and epoxied the sensor in the plug. I think I could do this - however if the sensor ever came out, I guess the bilge pump would be working overtime.

Agreed, drill the hole. How do you think the manufacturer got the drain plug in there? They drilled a hole.
