Water Temp???

I Have 1977 Siverline,17' Nantucket. It Has A 305 Mercruiser. What Is The Ideal Water Tempature? Thanks

Running in fresh water 160 would be fine.

With a thermostat it should maintain around 160. If it got over 170-180 max, I'd be looking for a problem.

And I might add QUICKLY!
BUT be nice if you told us raw water cooled, or fresh closed..
Raw 140, Fresh, 160, maybe more..what does YOUR manual say? (Ya do hve one, right?)

Yes I Do.but It Only Says That If Water Tempature Goes Into The Red On The Gage It Is Runing To Hot. But My Gage Dose Not Have Color On It It Has Numbers. Thanks
