I would like to install a water temp gauge on my boat. I have a 2004 Yamaha F115TLRC.
Is there a plug/port I could remove and install the temp sensor?

Re: Water temp

Let me ask this, anyone have a picture of water path thru the powerhead.
If I knew water flow I can pick a place to add a sensor

Re: Water temp

Why/where do you want/need to know the water temperature at the motor? My low-priced Lowrance Fishfinder has the lake/river water temperature on the screen, as well as the charging voltage. The motor cooling system just carries the heat out of the motor with a thermostatically controlled water flow, but the system don't really care what the water temperature is, as long as it cools the motor. Guess you can add a guage but don't know what it's gonna tell you?

Re: Water temp

I guess I'm old school. I work in a boiler room; we have gauges and thermometer everywhere.

I'd like to know the thermostat is working correctly and the engine is not overheating or I’d like to know when the engine is up to temp before I hit WOT.

We have warning lights and horns but I think an actual gauge would be that much better
