I am a new boat owner and also thinking of adding a water pressure gauge. I have a Mercury 150 Saltwater with a "water temperature gauge. The range is 0 to 220 degrees, initially didnt notice it registering beyond about 175, then I noticed it was up to almost 200. I contacted my local marina and they said Mercurys always run hot. I didnt like that answer and contacted Mercury who basically said the same. They did allow that they wished that the boat manufacturer wouldnt put temperature gauges, rather a water pressure gauge which they said tells much more. There are too many variables when using a temperature gauge
and sure enough after 10 hours of use the temperature now runs anywhere from 160 to 200.

Comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
