Water trap for 1999 Yam ox66

Just purchased a two used 200 ox66 outboards. bought a users manual. the manual says to inspect the water debri catch under the engine oil reserve a (small clear plastic nipple). When i did it was black oily looking. It also says to consult a yamaha service. the engines run fine. how critcal is this? is this a do it you self job? Looks simple enough.

hello<br /> tilt the engines some ,cut the wire tie. drain the water trap and reinstall with a new tie. simple but needs to be done.<br /> good luck and keep posting
