I have a 507x90D 50 HP Force.I had to replace exhaust gasket under head. When I was putting back ,I found the water pump tube really loose going to head.I left it loose and blowed head gasket.I replace head gasket , but water not going to head.It comes mostly from shift linkage adjustment hole. Can I remove lower and upper foot to correct this? Thanks

Re: water tube problem -50 hp force

You may be able to drop the lower unit, place the tube in proper postion and push it back into place. It may take some pressure to do that. Just be carful not to bend or kink the tube. If this doesn't work, you are going to have to dropt he lower leg too and replace the gasket between the powerhead and the lower leg in adddition to re positioning the water tube.<br />Incidentally, you did insert the water tube into the water pump housing during assembly?

Did you replace the gasket under the adaptor plate? Item 5 HERE I believe has to be installed between the adaptor plate and the gasket. I may be wrong but that is how it worked on my chrysler.

Eurolarva is right. That gasket or grommet has to be installed to get a good seal on the tube.
