The grommet on the water tube to exhaust housing adapter is shot and needs replacing. My exact engine is E60ELCTB, the grommet part number is the original 0322308, it looks like the picture attached with explanation. It has been replaced by part number 0332363, which is just a washer. The online parts listings all say you only need one of the washer. That makes no sense to me, as the original Grommet covered the flange on the tube and protruded into the hole in the exhaust housing adapter, totally isolating the copper from the aluminum. The replacement washer is only a washer, where exactly does it go, since the tube flange is wider than the exhaust housing hole. The washer does not look thick enough to bottom out in the exhaust hole ledge, moreover it's OD (in a picture of the part with a ruler) makes it too big to fit anyway. Maybe if one used two of the washers, one on the tube and the other over the exhaust housing adapter hole? In fact this thread says to use two

Is anyone familiar with how this new grommet is installed?

I ordered two of the new washers and will see how they best fit.

I installed the tube and new style Grommet 0332363 that looks like a plastic washer. The online parts listings all say you only need one of the washer, but you actually need two, one goes in the hole where the tube goes (the hole is big enough for the washer to fit inside and the tube fits in the groove in the washer. The problem with my hole was that it was covered in corrosion and needed to be scraped clean to bare metal. Once that was done the washer and the tube fit fine.) The second washer slips over the tube and you slide it down to cover the flare on the tube end, so the tube end on one side is sitting on the washer in the hole and on the other side on the tube flare you have the other washer, so the tube flare and tube are totally encased inside the two plastic washers. The you just put on the adapter housing gasket over the washers (Grommets) and the tube cover plate and the tube is installed.
