2006 Mercury 25 H.P. engine F25ELPT S/N OR125093. How do you replace the water tube from the water pump to engine block. It looks like it has a piece missing and no water gets to pee hole. Changed impeller in water pump. Does the driveshaft housing have to come off? Will that drain all the oil from the engine? How many new gaskets are required here? Tried pulling it down to no avail.

Okay.
Water tube replacement: You have to split the engine from the exhaust housing remove the lower until from the exhaust housing. Put the new water tube in the top and assemble the power head the exhaust housing.
Does the driveshaft housing have to come off: I believe so. I think you have to drain the oil.
someone can correct me.
How many gaskets are required: I believe 2 gaskets will be required.
Water tube grommets are required.
Hope this helps, At least give us something to correct.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. May be getting in over my head, but so far it has been simple enough. I will get some gaskets and water tube and grommets and give it a shot. Let you know what I get into. Seems like a long ways down into the housing to reach the top of the water tube.

Not that bad a job. Put parts in baggies and take pictures.
You'll be fine.
