Why do I have water running out from under my dashboard?
It just pours when going over 20mph?

Re: Water under dash

is your speedo working???
the hose may have come off the back of it or it may be cracked under dash.

I'm going to guess that your speedo tube has become disconnected from the speedo.

Less likely, the speedo tube has a whole in it.

Call me curious but why wouldn't one look under there when under way (someone else driving of course) to see what's going on?

The water was too choppy when it happened.
I didn't know the speedo had water going to it.
I looked when we got home but couldn't see past the steering unit.

It shouldn't have water going to it.
The tube is normally full of air, water is forced into the tube through the pitot fin sticking below the water surface at the transom, the water compresses the air which actuates the speed needle, if the tube came off the barbed fitting at the speedo gauge then all the air got expelled and now water is being forced out into your boat like a squirtgun.

Re: Water under dash

Thank you everyone for all the help.
With the boat stable in back yard, I was able to look up under dash and see that the line was off. If I have enough slack, I am going to trim the end off and slide it back on.
