Re: Water Water Everywhere!!!!

The ice around here was thin and some lakes never comlpetely froze. That includes our local lake whose ice is usually measured in feet, not inches. I'm in Wisconsin and that has never been the case even in recent years as the ice seems to be getting thinner each year. If Gee Dubya needs proof of Global Warming, all he has to do is go ice fishing around here in the winter... if he doesn't fall thru and drown first. I'll be happy to loan him some Beaver Dam tip-ups. ;)

I didn't say it's Bush's fault. He's just too shortsighted to acknowledge it's existance ... let alone do anything about it.

I used to go out with my Dad's van and burn donuts on the lake by our house when I was a lad. He didn't care. As long as I was careful and limited the donuts to lakes. I heard a local warden ticketed some guy around here for that. It was dismissed. The judge knew of no law against it. :D

Do your part, WillyBWrong. Stop consuming fossil fuels. Put solar panels all over your house. Make yourself energy-independent. Or are you just too greedy to do anything about it?

Re: Water Water Everywhere!!!!

I recently cut my gasoline consumption in half by buying a car that gets 36mpg as opposed to 18 that I was burning in my old family truckster. As other fuels become available and practical, then I'll look into those options at that time. There's a new Ethanol plant just up the road. :)

I'm just one person. I do what I can. I'm not in a position to affect much with the means available at this time. I look forward to fuel cells powering cars and homes with no emissions. Ain't happened yet. A President has the power to make that happen. Kennedy aimed us at the moon and we got there in less than 10 years. It can be done and somebody's going to do it. Only question is what country is going to lead the way? With a Texas Oil President in charge, it ain't gonna be US.

Ya know, I swear I tried, but I just can't stay away from this as it has turned into a Global Warming thing.

First, everybody agrees that the globe is warming. The question is why and can we do anything about it.

Second, all of the technology expected to save us from our own, self-inflicted, destruction  is from the US. It will rise to the surface when the economics support it. Not until. That, BTW, is why my job sucks, not because George won't give me a free pass . . . ;)

Hey wait a minute, I know, I know, George should get behind Etecs and only Etecs, because they are the most fuel efficient gasoline marine technology . . . Would somebody please get a flippin' clue!!

Rant off.

Yep, WBW, it's all Bush's fault because he has failed to snap his fingers and stop the course of nature. With Washington's Mt St Helens, spewing double the State's annual industrial hydrocarbon output, every week, he just won't put a stop to it.

One day the rank in file liberal will realize that virtually every pet subject of the Democratic party is designed to weaken the power autonomy of the American Nation and her citizens. They want to make things so bad that voters will just throw up their hands and say "let the State' take care of it. Of course, the Liberals are salivating for that day.

Another current, flagrant example was Ted Kennedy's recent appeal to the illegal mexicans.

Boomyal, ignoring a problem or changing the subject does not make it go away. It just makes you feel good about yourself.
Sometime in the future even you will have to recognize that you are a citizen of a small planet with finite energy sources and a huge global carbon dioxide problem caused by burning fossile fuels.
We cannot do anything to stop Mount St.Helens, but we can stop driving Hummers and other gas guzzlers.
Ignorance does not make one innocent.Ignoring a problem because it is unpleasant and gets in the way of your convenience is down right stupid. So start doing your home work and then maybe you will start doing your part in making this country a cleaner and safer place for your kids.Remember, our kids do not inherit this earth from us.We have borrowed it from them and it is our task to return it to pass it on to them, better than we got it.

Wouldn't it just be arrogant to tell others how to live their lives based on a shakey unproven THEORY. How sincere could the kyoto accord be if there are separate standards for separate countries? It's all about the children don't you know. Whether the chineese or the USA is sending up greenhouse gases does it really matter to the children? I think the children are looking forward to eating, and this extended growing season will provide more food for all the children to grow big and strong. I guess they should all thank President Bush. Think of all the poor children not freezing to death. Children enjoying the great outdoors and exercising, sounds good to me.

Global warming and the benefit to children. Sounds like a nice book.

I had no idea he was a scientist, I thought he was a member of the golden sperm, oil barron club. And according to many here, not a very smart one. I didn't hear him ever say that he thought that global warming was caused by humans. The theory that the earth is warming may have merit its true causes are nothing more than a political football.

How sincere could the kyoto accord be if there are separate standards for separate countries?
