Hey guys i am looking for someone who can tell me how to step by step on changing water pump
on 1989 fifty classic i am sure once i get it down i can do it but all the ones ive changed is on a
johnson can someone plese help thnx rob

i can not find out where the linkage diconnects to lower the unit someone please help thanks guys

I'd say the easiest way to remedy this situation is to either give him the step by step, or just not reply to his post. This forum is designed to help people. And, if you look at the post times, he was just trying to bump his post up to the top so it would be seen again.

You should have 4 nuts to remove. There should be 2 on the cavitation plate towards the front of your lower unit. They are very easy to see. Loosen them as far as they will go. They won't come all the way off until you get the other 2 nuts loose also. There should be one bolt that runs through and threads into the trim tab, and it is accessed through a quarter sized hole above the trim tab. The final nut is a few inches in front of the trim tab. Remove it and loosen the 2 nuts on the cavitation plate the rest of the way, then the lower unit should drop off. It may require some wiggling or some tapping with a rubber mallet. Don't use a hammer.

hey guys sorry if i bothered someone on tis waterpump problem but i dont know how to repost or add something right and then the last time i didnt get an nanswer so i posted it again hoping someone would see it thanks for all your help though be careful guys and thanks for your help rob
