I noticed by accident that yamaha lube seem to give a nice shine to the outside of my twin outboard engines

IT is very simple. I accidentally spilled some yamalube on a clean rag and rubbed this on the outside of the crawl and exterior metal parts. This produced a clean and shinny engine.

Come on... you are among friends here, spit it out. Did you think the lube was cleaner / wax? We need all of the details including the mindset leading up to why a person would rub oil on their new engines? :'(

Ah Ha!!!

So now we know what all those e-bayers do prior to taking pictures of their faded scratched boats and motors...

They rub Yama-lube on them and then snap the shutter!

i find that lube does gove a nice glossy finish, but it also acts like a dirt atractant, almost like glue.... so im back to using "ducky" spray...

i am a firm believer that if its not listed on the packaging, thats not what its meant to do....

we encourage all of our customers to coat their engines with Corrosion Block (here in saltwater territory)....had one spray the entire OUTSIDE of the cowling with it !!8)

bck in the 50's, my dad would mix motor oil and mineral spirts, and wipe his truck down, boy it shined for the weekend, come Monday night after work (Construction) it was a mess.
