Re: We are Flooded Out!

SS,
I have been where you are at, so please believe me when I say that what you are dealing with now will all be over sooner than you think. After hurricanes Erin, Opal, Ivan and Dennis we experienced and witnessed a stupefying degree of devastation. But each time the mess was cleaned up faster than we thought it would be. People came together and helped each other out more than we thought they would, (with everyone in such need it was cool to see people helping neighbors and strangers alike. I wore out a half dozen chain saw blades, and I only knew two of the families that we helped out!) The water will drain off, the mess will be cleaned up and life will go on like this never happened in a matter of weeks. For now just do what you have to do and everyday things will get better. Have peace.
best regards,
w

SS, I am so sorry to hear about the damage. There is a load of it here in southern Wisconsin too. Whole towns flooded out like yours. I feel so lucky my house is up high. I only have a little water in the basement that was pushed through the wall by hydro-static pressure.

Unfortunately, we had more rain and a three people were killed when a power line fell in the water they were standing in. Here is a link.

I hope Calicokid is doing ok. I believe he lives on the water near here.

Good luck SS, I hope the water goes down soon and no one else gets hurt.

Re: We are Flooded Out!

Thanks for the replies guys. My house and family is all okay. I'm just having trouble dealing with my work. Boss wants me to get the shop in order, but keeping the stores operating at the same time is a pain. I was able to be at the shop for about an hour total yesterday. At least the boss had a crew come in and do some cleaning. It was hot yesterday and muggy. Nothing hardly dried up.

Oh yeah, the flood insurance? Onyl $11,000,,,,not hardly enough to cover one piece of equipment. Because the building had flooded 20 years ago, that is all that they could get insured. That should have been a red flag to get out of there. But my superiors knows best (at least they think so).

Got to go now, I'll post again this evening. BTW,,,I do get my vacation next week. Its going to be hard to relax when I know what I have ahead of me.

Thanks again,,,,,,SS
