I'm a rather agile 63 years and remember my early years when my dad tried and keep our 2 Continental 2.5? cant really remember for sure but they had to be under 5hp. Anyway back then searching for a part could take over a month and involve much letter writing and waiting for a reply. Today we have a wealth of experience in this forum for free and a nation wide parts supply at our fingertips with just a little searching. In fact it's really worldwide considering major mfg's sold all over the globe. What ever you need, manuals or parts etc keep searching and I'll bet you eventually find it. Best I can remember his next large engine was a 10-25 Elgin and the last before he died was a 35 Johnson. That motor required 2 hours of work for every one on the water. Of course, all were well used by the time we aquired them and it makes me chuckle when I see posts about how hard it is to find things.

Safe boating ya'll

PS: Don't bother with a reply on hp those were just guesses based on my rather dim 50 or more year memory of times past.

Welcome Aboard Sir!
My first skiff back in SoCal was a 17 footer glass over wood lil cuddy that had a 35 horse Evinrude Lark, maybe a late 50's or early 60's..It was as big as some of the 150 hp's out there today!

Here's some vintage eye candy for ya!
