Well a survey was exactly what I was thinking about. Calendars are a touchy thing when it comes to designing them... you have to be very careful not to offend or **** anyone off.

My original thought was member photos. Maybe a main image for the top portion and an inset on the actual calendar page. I also like the idea of the voting for the inside photos and a separate vote for the the cover... or have the cover be it's own design with no photo. But like I said before... time's a wastin'.

We have done calenders on clubsearay for a couple years now, they start a thread for the calender, members submit photos, then this is compiled into a thread with the photos numbered and then the members vote, the top 12 are then put in a calender. Turned out great.

For the first one, if it happens, use the mods and their boats. I've seen pictures of some of the mods but not of the others.

Matter of fact, I'm not even sure if I know who are mods now or how many we have. It would put a face on some of the names we see all of the time.

Uline.com sells calendars but also gives away calendars with orders totaling more than $XX. They have their name and contact info all over them.

From a marketing standpoint, that's a good option.

I personally think that a before/after pictorial of the members boats that have been restored makes more sense for iboats. Remember, most of us found this site while trying to fix our older boats or motors. A few smaller photos of a ragged hulk on a trailer inset on the main pic of the finished resto on the lake with the family would be more inspiring to the crowd here than a shot of some yacht or cigarette boat that none of us could ever afford. Kind of a "here's what you can do with the help from our members and the iboats store" advertisement.

Maybe include some "moments in boating history" on the days that they happened.

I think this is the best idea yet! Maybe have a little story on each month with the member that is featured in it. Maybe include stuff like:

- How they found the boat
- How much they paid for it
- What they have done to it
- What they want to do to it yet
- How much they have invested so far
- How long it took them to restore it
- Favorite memory of it

I think that this is a great idea and would be sure to purchase one if it comes about!
