I'm givin' here all she's got Captian.
71 500 3011762 thunderbolt twin carb
it needs a little something more, maybe up to 65-70HP would be good.
what can a guy do without breaking the bank? I was told by a machine shop guy I know it would be done with improving airflow.
can I do it with the stock bore/pistons?

what's the difference between mine and the 750 of same vintage?

Some motors had different power ratings simply with different carbs, but most have slightly different cyl port heights which are comparable to the camshaft specs and not an easy task to change without a total rebuild and machining expense.

Generally it is far cheaper to buy HP, check out CraigsList and other sites for another motor with the rating you want.

you think it would need any parts replaced? it has less that 150 hrs and has real good compression. can I get by with a tear down and port job?
