Well what ever I did it worked! Took her out and ran like a champ...I was able to get the boat up on plane and she is running about 26 mph fully loaded with 2 200 lb. men and a bunch of gear. I want to thank everyone for their input and suggestions.. I am thinking it was a combination of old points and condensers and dirty /corroded electrical connections... for a motor and boat thats 35 years old I am impressed how smooth she runs!
