Weak Floor

Ok my 1993 21ft Stringray is in ok shape except the floor is a weak.

I have removed the pedestal captains chair and I thinking of screwing down a oversize piece of 3/4 plywood to the floor and then bolt the pedestal base on top of the plywood.

Question 1: Should I sandwhich the boat one piece on top and one underneth or would one be ok?.........Top or Bottom

Question 2: Should I use a lag bolt to bolt to the floor

I know I should repair the floor but I am going to wait untill the off season.

Thanks for your input

Re: Weak Floor

They guys on here don't usually do things that don't make sense. Having said that If you MUST put it off until the OFF SEASON then make the biggest base you can that will span to the strongest portion of the DECK. I am assuming the deck has Carpet. If it is still attached firmly then I would use some PL adhesive to Glue the pad to the carpet and use stainless screws to screw it down. I would then use stainless screws to attach the seat pedastals. That should hold you for the season. Then tear it all out this fall and do it right!!!!!

:D
