Backstory:
1990 Evinrude 150xp
Had no spark on any cylinder
Replaced timer base and powerpack
spark returned on all cylinders
Started removing plug wires on spark plugs to make sure all were firing
Spark plug 3 and 6 were not firing (engine was not bogging down when plus pulled)
determined one of them was a bad coil pack as the issue moved when moving the coil pack
the other cylinder issue stayed with the cylinder
The boat turns over but does not start currently unless starter is sprayed into carb
the boat will then start fine as long as you try within 10-15 minutes of starting it with starter fluid
It also stays running just fine
Any recommendations on the other cylinder? I plan to buy a new spark plug even though it seemed to pass the gap test. Working on checking the reeds but just from visual inspection they all look ok (cant see them all unless i take more of the carb off)
The boat hasnt been started in over a year until this past weekend. Do you think maybe taking it out and running it under load might clear out any build up from sitting and fix the other cylinder?
