From the battery to the solenoid and engine block should be 4 gauge battery cable, from the solenoid to the starter 6 gauge should work

i fixed it by spraying wd 40 and it runs fine thankyou for the post

I doubt that wd 40 solved your problem. It may have delayed it some. You still need the right wire & clean connections.

well it runs fine so i am not going to try to fix it when it already fixed thank for the post though

and i put wd40 on the starter not the wires
