Re: Web Browser ?

Another Firefox fan here. I recently tried Google Chrome, and it really flies, but I'll wait for more add-ons to be written for it before considering a complete change-over.

Re: Web Browser ?

Well, I am going to step up and be the lone IE8 fan:eek:

I find it to be a lot better than any of the previous versions of IE or any of the other browsers. I find the web pages look cleaner in IE and load fast enough on my computers.

Also IE has a lot of features that I use such as accelerators. I simply highlight a word or phrase on the page and right-click; then can search, map, blog, shop for or a million other things with a single click.

And just because this version of vBulliten (forums.iboats.com) doesn't work properly with IE8 doesn't mean anything is wrong with IE8.

The problem is the vBulliten code tries to determine what browser and version you are using in order for some of the site features to work. The iboats version is an older one and doesn't recognize IE8.

And BTW FAR more people use IE than any other browser available right now.

Far more people use IE, not because they choose to, but because they are forced to at work or just don't know any better. To many, "the internet" is the big blue E on the desktop. They don't know they have a choice.

This is changing though. I'm glad to see people realize they have a choice and experiment with different browsers (or any software for that matter). Whichever one they choose as their favorite is fine with me.:)

Wow that's kind of presumptuous and condescending.

Regardless, without that big blue E the internet would not be what it is today.

Cheers~!

....or any number of other reasons.
In my case, IE (and IE 6 at that..;))works fine for everything I do (and I'm by no means a fan of MicroSoft) and I don't need the hassle of adding a new app just because I have a choice.

I'd be far more likely to switch from Windows (that discussion could be the thread of all threads and probably be locked in minutes...:D) than from IE.
