Hello, I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a good FTP program that is free. I've tried an older version of ws_ftple but had trouble with losing files in the transfer and frequent connection losses. I have a trial version of cuteFTP by Globalscape that is more reliable but it is slooooow! I've looked around some but I'm not really willing to download a dozen programs myself just to find one that works half-a--ed. So any suggestions based on experience would help me out alot.

I'm no genious at web publishing either so the interface needs to be kind of dummy-proof.

Thanks for reading, replying! :)

I'd have to go with schematic.. If you want free, SmartFTP is a good choice.

I use wsFTP Pro, but then I do this for a living..

-Roger

If you wan't it simple and easy, Wincommander (now Totalcommander) is a two-window filemanager with direct ftp access. Simply drag/drop to and from any ftp site or local folder as you please.

Unless you fancy the 'automatic' upload features in some web-design programs (neccessary for those programs that changes and generates more files than you know) it's a gem. Comes as shareware, too.

Even great for day to day maintenance with built-in zip, synchronizer and all.

I've always used Filezilla. It's an open source / GNU public licensed client. Bugs get fixed fast, and your not tied to the whims of a company that's doing a favor for you.
