Website Building Software ???

Hi guys, need advise so as not to buy something useless, or pull my hair out.<br /><br />I would like to build my next website myself, so I have access to it and can make changes as needed. Nothing fancy like an online store, just an info page where people can see my wares. A few pictures and a couple price tables. I just purchased a websites for dummies book.<br /><br />What I need is a clue on what software to buy to create the site. I have looked at some sites and catalogs, and it seems the sky is the limit. Buy this, ad this this this this and this, blah blah , next thing you know there is $1000 worth of software in the shopping cart.!!!!!<br /><br />Anyone have a suggestion?

Try Free... AceHTML <br /><br />It's one of the better free editors out there. <br /><br /> WebEdit isn't bad either.. but not free<br /><br />There's always FrontPage 2003.. I use Macromedia Studio MX2004, but I do it for a living, so I can justify the $1000.....<br /><br />-Roger

I use Netscape Composer -- Comes with Netscape browser.<br />It's free for download at netscape.com

I used to love it, but on recent attempts to use it, My Windows based machine goes into full regurgitation mode. Plus, I don't want to give AOL any satifaction.

Roscoe, <br />SiteSpinner isn't a bad program if you just want to do it visually, and not have to know any of the mechanics of how the tags etc work. Probably a better choice than something for the propeller heads like me <br /><br />-Roger

I would like to learn all the ins and outs, someday. But only plan on making a glorified photo album right now. Do you have a picture of your hat? Maybe someday I will get one too.
