Our lake is loaded this year with weeds.
Does anyone know of a deflector that can be mounted under the pontoon boat, in front of the outboard motor?
Lowering boat speed, as a result, would not be a factor.
Can such a gadget be home-made?
I am desperate.

Re: weed deflector

Thanks.
I checked with the manufacturer, and was advised it would help with weeds. Primarily it is used for debris in the water.

It seems like you could get creative and add more deflection across the front somehow.

I would consider fabricating a strip of aluminium (.25"x2" ) mounted approx.16-24 inches in front of the motor and at an angle backwards to deflect the weeds away from the prop. Bottom end should be slightly below the motor. Brace it so it can't move.
