Two stinkers in a row for my NY Giants :mad: Stupid penalties, turnovers, missed field goals, and a lack of any spark made for a long day. The only saving grace is shortening the watch via DVR. I'm going to the NYG vs Bears on Sunday night. Hope to see some effort for my efforts to be there!!!;)

How did your team do???:confused:

Re: Week 3 of the NFL

I'm not surprised at the Saints loss. I really didn't think the performance at SF was impressive and pointed out a need to step up considerably. With the loss to the dirtybirds, obviously they didn't do that.

One thing that annoys me even more, is that Garret Hartley (kicker) is taking major flack for missing a field goal that would have resulted in a win for the Saints. It wasn't a hard kick (29 yards), but there is lots of talk about replacing him over this miss and a couple of others this year.

If it were not for Garret Hartley, the Saints would not have gone to the SB last year. If coach Payton wants to give him a break for a couple of weeks to practice and identify whatever the problem is, fine. What I don't like, is all the talk about replacing him. Young Mr. Hartley has a heck of a leg and has proven what he can do. He is also a guy who will probably end up being known as one of the best, in the long run.

Further, if the rest of the team were stepping up as they should, the Saints wouldn't be pinning their hopes on a kicker anyway. If "it" doesn't work in the broader scheme of thinks, expecting your kicker to bail you out all of the time, isn't a solution.

So, fellow Saints fans, let's show a little loyalty!

Re: Week 3 of the NFL

^^^ Agreed! Our beloved Jason Hanson missed one yesterday, my neighbor thought that was a turning point in our loss...wtf :confused: either back your team or choose another to root for!

Then we have management who runs the clock down from 14 seconds to three, {for the field goal attempt}because they didn't want to chance a pick...again wtf?

Someone remind me why I put myself through this year after year....please{lol}

I guess us Viking fans are quiet, even tho we had a win, because it wasn't something to write home about. It is a W, however.

Looking forward to tonites game. Should be good.......

Just heard George Blanda died. He was 83. He played until he was 48.

Well, the Pack has salt, but no Peppers!!!!! He put the fear in 'em! 150+yds of penalties. OUCH.
I can't stand Angelo, he should have been fired, but he deserves a signing bonus for bringing Peppers on board!

Re: Week 3 of the NFL

WOW, whoda thunk my Steelers and Bears would BOTH be 3-0???? Can anyone say DEFENSE wins games??? Bears wins have not been "impressive", opponents have shot themselves in the foot, but a win is a win. 17 penalties by the Pack????? C'mon, man! I think Mphy was right, they came to fight, not play football and win!

My picking was HORRIBLE in the Pickem league, but still hanging on to second place! fishkpr is tearing it up after a less than stellar first week and has solidly established himself as the one to beat!
