Anyone know the weight of a 1977 Mercury 4.5hp longshaft? I'd say it is around 50-55lbs. but not too sure.

I have a '94 sales brochure and a 4 hp short is 45. So I'd say your numbers are right on.

Thanks Tex. All I know is this guy is really heavy for it's hp rating. I have a Johnson 9.9 that weighs around 72 lbs. and it doesn't seem that much heavier. I also have a beautiful little 1969 2cyl. Johnson 4hp that weighs at 35lbs., but that does not have F-N-R. For portability I know which one I will choose!!
