Re: weight of 2000 50hp four stroke mercury
I have a Tracker Pro Deep V 17. I pulled the original 60hp engine off two years ago (Bad Cylinder) and replaced with a two cylinder 50 hp. The 60 has since been repaired and just went back on this fall. It was about a 29 mph boat with the 50hp. I haven't had a smooth day yet with the 60hp, in windy conditions it's gotten up to about 34. I think on a smooth day I could maybe get 36-37 mph. One note about the 50, with the right prop I could have gone a little faster with it. I was at WOT at about 80% throttle so I never really ran past 3/4. And the 50hp is 50lbs lighter than the 60hp; with the right prop it probably would have been a close match.
