Hey guys would any of you guys by chance be familiar with the possible weight of a 17' Glasstream Bass Boat's lower hull, the top portion has been taken apart and this is the weight of the lower hull only that is in question?

I didn't know if any of you guys had ever dealt with a 17' glasstream bass boat or not and possibly knew of the weight of your typical hull.

Thanks for any help....guesstimations welcome as well - although somewhat educated guesstimations please,.... laughing out...

Take care, Chris

Well, the hull on my Glastron is approx 1000-1100lbs dry. Trust me, the cap is HEAVY. The lower portion I can move around with one arm on the bunks, I can lift the front end of the boat with two arms relatively easily. Granted, I do not have a floor or stringers or transom in the boat. But I would propose that the lower section of the hull would be 40% of the weight of the boat, probably close to 50% with all the stringers and flooring/transom installed.

5-600lbs would be a pretty decent guesstimate methinks.

Thanks a lot my man, that is what i was needing? I am going to attempt to pick the cap off of the boat under some metal z-bars (approximately 26 guage or thicker) that makeup the truss work in a shelter that I have built. They span about 18' and i am going to be staying on one side of the z-bars whereby they mount into a thick metal channel on posts on the sides of this shelter.

I ought to be ok as long as the hull weighs in around 500-600 give or take + - a few pounds.

Thanks for the help brother. greatly appreciated. ;)
