Hello

Im trying to find the weight difference between a 1966 40hp and a 1973 johnson 50hp. is there a way you can tell.

A 1966 40 weighs from 132 to 164 lbs, depending on the model. The 50 should be about 180 lbs, but that's a guess based on the weight of a 55 (2) cylinder

I had a '64 Big Twin with all the bells and whistles and it weighed just a hair under 160#.

Weights given are close enough I came up with 40hp 132 manual,-145electric,154 electramatic.
50, 180 standardw electric start,187 long.electric.
