...no clue what my boat and motor weigh. Any guesses?? Will a cantilever lift with a capacity of 2400 lbs be OK?

Nearest highway weigh scale is too far away and anyway that would include the trailer, obviously.

I bet 2500lbs would be a good max weight for that boat, surely on the high side.

Re: Weight: want to buy a lift but.....

I build & install boat lifts..so the questions i am asking aren't meant to be condescending, What will the lift be attached to?
when you say cantilever..what make?
will it have bunks or straps
Need more info.
The lift capacity of most major makes is roughly 3/4 of its capable lift capacity. if your boat weighs 2500#
get a lift rated for 5K
So if ever you decide to trade up..you dont need to buy a new lift..

Also is the boat dry under the deck or is there water in the foam. That can add a lot of weight to the boat.

lift, sits on four legs on the bottom of the lake.

Boat is dry. Thinkin of the 2400lb model.

Cantilever mechanism works like a parallelogram (remember high school geometry?)

Nice lift..If its not permanently attached to pilings or a T-head,looks like it will work fine..i cant imagine your boat breaks 2400#..and again it will probable handle 3100#,but the lift builders underrate them for safety reasons. Go Get it...

Look up your boat on nadaguides.com and that will list the unrigged dry weight and you can also look up the weight of your motor. Add in your gas and toys.
