006.jpgwhat i have here is a very unusual water thrusted outboard, i need to know if anybody know anything at all about it, its got numbers on a plate and are as follows...No 5938211, type TA 636/FAA12, WHITEHALL 100, ive checked on google and nothing comes close and theres no record of a "WHITEHALL" company at all, the top half looks like a normal every day outboard but the bottom has a prop and it looks like it sucks water up and thrusts it out through a wide hole tube see pictures, please if you can help identify or explain the strange machine please answer....Gaz, my email address is

not listed in the old outboard book but may be a re badged Jet Brand motor...which had the 2 stoke power plant ..used for shallow water and not that unusual ..crude jetski design ...very inefficient at 4 HP .have sent the link to the king of old outboards who has over 300 in his collection. From your e mail you might be in the UK ..let me know if you are as that might explain the change of name

Hi,....Thanks for your reply, yes i am in the UK, manchester, i knew it was unusual but not very old because the carb looks modern and with it having a name like Whithall its sounded very English, thanks for sending the link to someone who may have some info on it, looking forward to solving the puzzle, thanks again.....Gaz

I have sent the photos to my friend who has 300+ pre 1950 outboards and he cannot identify it ....the design is not unusual and the motor is certainly a 2 stroke lawn mower engine possibly a tachumsi but the casting could have been done in the UK or bought in

Australia and he expressed no interest in purchase I think because its a lawnmower powered unit/too modern ..you should read the old outboard book by peter Hunn and you will find many similar
