Glenfiddich is good. I prefer Macallans when it is available. :)

OMG I have something else in common with JB besides Boating and Guns. Macallens single malt scotch 18 year old goes down so smooth.  Dear Hunting trip coming up and we always bring a bottle or Two to take the nip out of the air.

JB if you like the Macallens, Dewers makes a good premium blended scotch. Not as good as Macallens but in a pinch it is very good also. Also try Glen Morangie (sp?) 18 year old about the same price as Macallens and just as good.

When I sip blended Scotch it is usually Chivas Regal.

Very special occasions call for Macallan's 25 ($$$$ ) or Chivas Royal Salute 25 (a little less, but still very expensive).

My son and I are still enjoying a bottle of Macallan's 25 I gave him for Christmas several years ago. Of course it is about 30 years old now, but it came out of the cask at 25. :)

Chivas is good stuff also, Give the Dewar's a try,

http://www.dewars.com/products/dewars12.aspx

I think you will be pleasently suprised. Its as good as the chivas but a tad cheaper where I get it.

And speaking of cheaper I wish I could buy a bottle of 25 year old Macallen but that sells for $200.00 a bottle up here the 18 yr old is now about $80 That was one of the reasons I bouht the glen morangie which is also very good. Dang I'm going to have to buy some now I'm out at the house you got my taste buds going.

Although I'm a Miller Lite gal, I used to love Dewers with a 'splash & a twist.' :)

Ahhh... enjoying quality single malt. I knew I forgot this as one of my hobbies on that fave hobby thread. I like all of the brands listed above, but have to add my opinion...

For $30-$35/bottle price range, I really like Belvenie 12 yr. Doublewood. Very complex, and smoooooth. (Visit http://www.liquorama.net/product.asp?0=200&1=257&3=16373 for description, which I don't disagree with) Belvenie 10 yr. is good also. I also like the Aberlour 10 yr. Highland. But my favorite for $10 more is Talisker 10 yr. Isle of Skye. Everyone in the house knows when I pour a glass of that... it reeks to the high heavens.

I've really become a snob about this stuff... I don't drink it very often, usually in front of the fire on a cold Sunday evening after dinner (One of the few things I look forward during the cold months). Always at cellar temperature with NO ICE OR WATER, dangit!
