well got the 70 off and the 90 but

the guy told me they was just a gear broke in the lower unit.....so i rebuild the lower unit....got the 90 on the boat got the wiring done.....installed the lower unit...went to start it up.....and it was locked up...bottom piston was gone........guess i'll put the old 70 hp johnson back on.....thanks for all your help.............

Boy thats a shame. Maybe you can part it out, get some of your investment out of it.Was there a broken gear?

sorry, for the misfortune. but hopefully this will help someone else, before they go too far. before checking everything out. i never beleave a seller. hard lesson learned.

When buying a used engine, unless you hear it run or better yet, get an on water test run, consider the engine junk and make your offers accordingly. Otherwise you have no idea what you are buying.
