I did my first solo launch and retrieve today. I took off work today, went to my local launch, not a rig in the parking lot, I backed down and using the tips I learned from you guys launched the boat without losing it or sinking it. LOL. I spent 5 and a half hours crusing and about an hour drifting, again , not a soul on the river, I had the river to myself. I came back again, my rig was the only one in the parking lot, I came in using the tips I learned here, got my trailer backed in like a pro and was loaded, tied down and ready to go home in about 15 minutes, got to be my world record.

So, once again I must thank this forum's member for their vast knowledge and willingness to humor us newbies.... I told my wife, next time she don't feel like going out that's okay with me..C-YA, I can do it solo...LOL LOL

Doing it solo can be intimidating at first, especially when the ramp is crowded on a summer weekend.

I found it entertaining when I used to do a solo launch and recovery of my old 20 footer, when the ramp was busy and all these other boats were being handled by two or three people. I'd back the rig into the water, jog over to the boat, drive the boat onto the trailer, and drive off the ramp in no time.

I would just get stares from the other boaters. :D

Yes I was, I had visions of being the 6:00pm news, "Man Falls off Dock While Boat Floats Away" film at 11:00pm

:)
Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't happen yet.

You just didn't have enough eye witnesses.
