I have a problem with my 1990 Wellcraft fuel tanks. The boat is a 3300 Sportbridge with two large aluminium tanks mounted below the deck.

Any suggestions on how to effectively R&R the gas tanks??? T

I have a 3600 Martinique and was asking that question of my mechanic and he said the only way was to pull the motors, so if it's anything like mine it's a big job.

Re: Wellcraft fuel tanks?

I too have a big wellcraft, 24.8 sportsman with twin 140's. Apparently they installed the tank {s} BEFORE they dropped in the engines,. Unless you get a leak in the tank, or some other really really critical issue, As my mechanmic says, " After we suck out 100+- gallons of your fuel, then we can pull both engines, but not before we remove the rear bulkhead deck support, batteries, fuel filters and assorted wireing. Then, we can remove the tank. Reinstalling is much easier with the new gaskets, mounts and seals that I will sell you, and then after everything is put back, tightened down, and ready to go, I can refill the tank with nice fresh fuel {100 gallons} as the older fuel that will be drained from it will go directly into my boat. A fair estamate on parts and labor is around $3000/$4000, plus fuel. " .
