just went to a new 60 hp Yamaha 4 stroke. Had an old 60 evinrude v-4,2stroke that finally died. What is approx.weight difference? Lighter,I hope???

A 4 stroke is going to be heavier than a 2 stroke.

What year was the Evinrude 60? My 1966 service manual has the Evinrude 60 at 225 to 236 pounds, depending on the shaft length.

I think it was a 60 or 61 long shaft.(Darth vader type) It was onna 1961 aerocraft, tri-hull

The 2007 Yamaha 4 strokes go from 237-248 lbs, so you're gaining a whopping 10 lbs. You could probably lose that yerself and break even on the deal :D

plus yer ol' 60hp probibly made an honest 50hp at the prop when new and 40hp before she crooked. You will have fun with that Torquey 60hp EFI yamaha.
