Long weekend and the forecast is rain every day. So Saturday my teenage boys (14 & 17) say: "there is no lighting lets go skiing, were going to get wet anyway". Moms has just asked for help with the laundry so I say what the hey lets go. We get to the ramp which is a very shallow ramp and it high tide so there is about 40 yards of dock. I hook up bow line and tell the boys that I will push the boat off the trailer and you guys walk it out the dock to the next boat tied up (about 3 boat lenghts out. I toss the dock line up to one of the boys and start pushing. Next thing I know the dock line goes by with no teenage boy attached. I look up to see the backs of both boys. Now the boats headed to sea and the boat behind me. I yell to the boys but the oldest yells back that they are helping another boater on the other side of the dock. I go for a swimm to catch boat and was lucky that the boater behind me was paying more attention than my boys. The other boater says that the whole thing is understandable. I say no it is not and that 2 boys are about to go for the swimm of their lives. The other boater says go look at the boaters in distress. Yep, two college age girls in tee shirts and its been raining. I do not condon this behavor but I understand it.
