hi and thankyou for you help i believe im in need of a coil pack or power pack..the page you discribed doesnt show my motor it doesnt go high enough my model is 80571 and serial is 2227 would it have been made when chrysler took over do you think
hi there again yes well it would make sense still goes under the westbend logo but in the time frame of the chrysler era...so any suggestions where i can find parts inpaticular the power pack i spose i have 5 spare wires three off the drive wheel and 2 off the main wiring panel, they all come together to meet at this missing part to power the motor i think..
I have a 1964 Crownline I bought almost 2yrs ago that has a 1964 Westbend 800 on it as well. Luckily all of the guts were still there and mine is running pretty good after a points change, new aftermarket rectifier, NOS prop and a good going through. I am currently trying to figure out which impeller mine takes cause NOBODY has any info on these engines when they were westbend or chrysler. Mine is a Model 80471(the "4" indicates the year, just as yours is an 80571). chrysler kept the engines the same for a year or two after they bought them, but its still hard finding anything on the 65&66 chrysler 80hp's. I have learned quite a bit about this oddball outboard, so if you need help with it, email me r_cracer@hotmail.com. heres some pics:
