Hi, I have a 14' aluminum Westcoaster and I want to replace the transom wood. The braces are bolted to the wood and welded to the floor. I want to replace the wood without having to weld anything, but I can't see how to get a new piece in without either taking our the braces or popping off the welded rail on top. Either way will force me to deal with aluminum welding. So, anyone have any ideas/tricks to getting a new piece of wood in there without having to weld anything? I have some pics attached so you can see what I've got.

put it in in two halves and then bolt/laminate a third peice to double the thickness between the knee braces or on the outside
